Summary of Story: When Beth allows lust to rule, and employs a failed poet as Innovations Executive, she unwittingly signs the death warrant for her dowdy supermarket. Robert's crackpot schemes and infatuation with Danny, the supermarket boy, (waging World War Three with his mother over his father's identity) lead, with toe-curling inevitability, to a crisis which blows apart the worlds of these four confused people.
